A good Historic Presentation of Yes

"Many die hard Yes Fans know about these videos. I've had these videos as bootlegged editions bought years ago. Yes never released this video taped concert at QPR because of the audio problems.



This was originally intended to be a formal recording of the band using Video Cameras instead of Film. At least 4 cameras were utilized but the audio was taken direct from the flawed mixing console auxilliary out. The problem lied with a loose cable somewhere on one of the sub channels. Quite a shame, but this still offers a good look at the stage presentation and still shows the virtuosity of the band during the time of the Relayer material. There is no documented video anywhere else of the song "To be Over" and "Sound Chaser" during this period so this is a true relic. The band performs fluidly and one can feel that they know this music on a closer basis since coming off from the recording recently of Relayer. Also, this is the only video account with Patrick Moraz in the band. The years with Moraz in my opinion allowed Yes do sound incredibly different and more Jazzier. Bill Bruford once said in an interview that Wakeman did not have a blue note in him. Moraz gave them a different perspective here. It would have been nice to have heard Wakemans interpretation of Gates of Delirium and Sound Chaser.



The band cannot be blamed for the recording flaws here. Regardless, the stage presentation and showmanship are excellent still and this is worth the purchase."

"In my review of Vol. 1 of this two part set, I said that the sound mix stinks. By the time the second half of this concert had arrived, the sound engineer appears to have mastered the mixing desk ... the sound balance on Vol. 2 is great! We can now hear Steve Howe's guitar virtuosity, the bass lines are clearly audible, and again Patrick Moraz is inspirational on keyboards. If you're a Yes fan, buy it. If you're not ... then you will be after getting this! For me, Yes at Q.P.R. Vol. 2 is one of the greatest progressive rock recordings in existence."

A Great Complement to Yessongs

"This video is a great video record of how Yes was during their Relayer tour. The sound mix isn't perfect, but completely listenable. Unlike Volume 1 which reflected serious sound problems at the original show, the virtuosity of all of the musicians, particularly Steve Howe, comes through very clearly. "And You and I" and "Ritual" are performed magnificently, with Patrick Moraz's contribution yielding a different take on the material. The downside to this video is it's length; considered by itself it's short. Even so, Yes is arguably at its best live, and seeing this music played live is much more moving than just hearing it live."

(Relayer tour) Great concert, however poor sound quality.

"The reason I did not give this 5 stars is because of the sound quality.I agree with "B.R Clarke". The sound quality on the first disk is very poor. It seems that the source of the poor sound was in the orginial concert, and not in the disk itself. The opening song "Sound Chaser" (disk one) cuts out from the P.A. system. Jon Anderson makes a comment about there being "buzzes" in the P.A. during the concert. Such as it is. I still think this DVD is worth buying. The concert was great. Steve Howe,s guitar solo,s, Patrick Morez,s solos,s and "Ritual" is well worth the price. Plus this was an outside concert in 1975 and the "best" was saved for last, after dark."
