Movie Reviews

The 39 Steps - Robert Donat
C. Garfield | USA | 08/25/2010
(1 out of 5 stars)

"I had really been looking forward to watching this movie. I had read the book and I had bought the modern tv version starring Rupert Penrys-Jones (which was great). I would not recommend the Robert Donat version of the movie. For at least 35 percent of the movie, the sound is totally out of sync with the lip movements of the actors. I found I couldn't look at the screen because it was too distracting. I was very disappointed."
39 steps badly mastered
R. W. Brown | Durango, CO USA | 09/17/2010
(1 out of 5 stars)

"This is the only bad review I've ever done on an item. This DVD is crummy. The sound track does not match up with the images. And the sound track is only barely intelligible. Finally, the mastering on the DVD format left loads of residual squares throughout the movie."
