Movie Reviews

Touchdown!
John Abar | a bar | 04/17/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If you're a fan of the films of Jamaa Fanaka, you'll probably dig this obscure low budget delight. This is one of the most bizarre films of the urban action genre that you'll ever get your hands on. Mind boggling and ballsy, Abar delivers the goods for the adventurious film seekers out there who are fed up with garbage like The Matrix, Miss Congeniality, and Hostel 2. I haven't seen the dvd version yet, but I've already ordered my copy, and I'm glad that someone had the guts to give it a shiny disc release. This film won't need any digitally remastering or any fancy extras anyways. It speaks for itself. And don't pay attention to any reviews that claim it's some grade Z B-flick. Well, maybe it is, but this little gem has got more heart and soul than Patch Adams and Top Gun combined. And it's entertaining as hell. But don't pay attention to my review either. Just take a chance."
