Movie Reviews

A true initiation into the path of healing.
Mary M. Nelson | Olympia, WA USA | 04/21/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"For anyone who is searching for assistance in the realm of healing this DVD is extremely beneficial. After repeated viewings and experience of the powerful, initiatory exercises she presents it is clear to me that Nicki Scully is a true Medicine Woman. Hearing the personal story of her training in the healing arts and her encounter with and recovery from life threatening illness gave me hope that total health is possible for so many of us who are caught in the pain, suffering and despair of sickness and dis-ease.

Her Fire Mist exercise showed me how I can access the Universal Life Force Energy, open my hands and heart to awaken my own healing abilities, call upon my spirit guides, open my consciousness to the energy of plants and minerals, as well as have the confidence to begin to help others on their own healing journeys. What a joy for me to feel this energy flowing through my body!

The Parabola initiation/shamanic journey for working with cancer and all kinds of illness is profound and I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a path that will lead them to a new understanding of how to cope with and transform their illness. I also feel that these exercises are beneficial for those of us who are in good health for they are relaxing and restorative. I was also stirred and enlivened by the mesmerizing and rhythmic music by composer Vicki Richards that accompanied these Shamanic/ Initiatory journeys.

This may sound a bit harsh, but I call them as I see them.

"Maybe because of my own expectations of what this DVD would be, I was hoping for something completely different. What I got was a woman sitting in a chair surrounded by Egyptian looking souvenirs talking about herself and her Egyptian Spirit Guide she claims (with pretentious humbleness) gave her an initiation. Can't think of a word

"I can't think of a word to describe this DVD. I didn't watch the whole thing, I couldn't. Thanks to the goddess I only rented it through [...]; if I'd spent good money on it, I would have had to rent another DVD that deals with releasing anger! The visuals are beautiful. The woman is, well, peculiar, and her manner and voice totally unacceptable for DVD presentation. I couldn't hear most of the words and there are no captions.

My advice is that this is definitely one of those vanity projects you should stay far, far away from."
