"The Andy Griffith Collection is a nice introduction to the inhabitants of the small foothills town of Mayberry, North Carolina. This set includes sixteen episodes from the second half of the show's third season, with Griffith starring as Sheriff Andy Taylor, a widower with a young son named Opie (played by a very young Ron - then Ronny - Howard); Frances Bavier as Aunt Bee, Andy's housekeeper and Opie's unofficial foster mother; Don Knotts as Barney Fife, Andy's inept Deputy Sheriff; Jim Nabors as gas station attendant Gomer Pyle and Hal Smith as Otis, Mayberry's town drunk.
