Season 1 is just complete half the puzzle. Besides the fighting scene, the entire scene is skillfully written. The character design is so beautiful." The only real problem with the show is that it really doesn't explore the concept it embraces. Out of 25 episodes the Get Backers actually only get back 5 things. Most of the series follows the fight of the week style in which a one on one battle ensues between one of the 2 main characters (more join later, sort of) and someone from his past, all of whom have some type of extraordinary skill or power. The whole thing reminded me of a more grounded version of Dragonball or Yu Yu Hakusho. I like those shows well enough, but they were not what I expected when I purchased this. I would give it 3.5 if possible."
