Made me take another look at my childhood and how my sisters and I were raised. Synopsis: Broadway icon and burgeoning screen actor Ben Platt stars as Scott, a twenty-something writer who dreams of moving to Paris. After his father suddenly dies, Scott's plans are put in jeopardy as he discovers his sister Cinty (Lola Kirke) is living in a halfway house for the mentally ill. Despite her wild and unpredictable behavior, Scott puts his life on hold to take her in. "Broken Diamonds" poignantly follows these characters as they come to understand the effects of shared childhood trauma on each of their mental health, culminating in life-altering realizations for both of them. 2 of 2 member(s) found this review helpful.
