Member Movie Reviews Samuel K. (Solvanda) Reviewed on 8/7/2018... 1985 BBC five part drama based on Francis Brett Young's novel of the same name. You can see Daniel Day still finding his feet here. Barbara Kellerman especially impressed me as Rachel Hammond, a Doctor's daughter, whose unuttered misery howls through the screen. I thought the parents of Jonathan were neurotic and utterly insane.
This story for me appraises the many ways that a person may, though not overtly obvious, be a hero. It's a study of the reasons one makes decisions, even when in complete disagreement with them. I was left bewildered and traumatized by the conclusion. |
