Some funny spots but mostly slow.

Caddyshack is one of those crazy comedies that popped up in the early 80's. And while it's very good, I don't think it's stood the test of time as much as some other films of the era, such as National Lampoon's Vacation or Animal House.
The plot is about a young man who works as a caddy at an upscale resort that wants to make enough cash to go to college. While working, he falls for Ted Knight's neice. Ted plays a rich snob who has no intention of letting his own flesh-and-blood mix it up with the help. Rodney Dangerfield plays a nuevo-riche bum who is trying to have some fun at the place...and rub his success in Ted's face. Chevy Chase plays a zen-like golfer who offers advice to his caddy friend, while at the same time trying get laid every chance he gets. And Bill Murray plays a psychotic, drugged-out maintenance man who is charged with keeping the gophers off of the course...and he'll do anything to accomplish this.
This is a genuinely entertaining movie with lots of laughs...but, it's a little bit all over the place. A lot of talent is here...and sometimes they get in each other's way. If you're a golfer or you're just nostaligic for the late 70's/early 80's, you'll probably enjoy this.
