Movie ReviewsAnimation potpourri Annie Van Auken | Planet Earth | 04/14/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "The "Superman" shorts in ST. CLAIR's "CLASSIC CARTOON FAVORITES" are presented in chronological order. The complete collection of 17 from both FLEISCHER and FAMOUS STUDIOS are here. FAMOUS STUDIOS only released two "Raggedy Ann" cartoons-- both are included. The oldest animations in this set are the two silent-era "Mutt and Jeff" shorts. These were directed by the comic strip's creator, Bud Fisher. Also featured are samples of WARNER and DISNEY cartoons. ST. CLAIR DVD multi-packs are reasonably priced, and offer fine quality video/audio transfers of unrestored public domain material. Discs are single-side recorded and plastic storage cases fairly sturdy. For the ultimate animation box set, check out MCE's AMAZING 300 CLASSIC CARTOON COLLECTION.
