That is the setup for this twisty tale that takes a dark look at the lure of fame and the vulture-like mentality of those who prey upon the victims of "true crime". Ed Harris and wife Amy Madigan have minor roles as the parents of fast-talking con man Michael Vaughn (Rich Sommer) whose glib manners and ability to "read the room" have lead him into a life of conning and film-flamming, culminating in a career as a "psychic". Joanne Froggatt (Anna from Downton Abbey with a very believable American accent) plays his long-suffering accomplice while Clifton Collings Jr. plays a guilt-ridden murderer desperate to rid himself of the painful after effects of a life-altering decision from his past.
