"This tape/dvd is an outstanding piece of work. I think it is essential for people starting out on the banjo to have training such as this. Homespun has split screen so you can see the picking/strumming and also see the fingers on the fretboard. If you enjoy 3 finger Scruggs style, buy this lesson now and start to play a mean banjo!"
Outstanding Value!!

"I've been picking the banjo for 16 years and owe it all to starting with this incredibly clear, well organized, and accessible bundle of lessons. I first bought it as a video and went through it with a fine tooth comb. Many fine hours of jamming and playing in bands have ensued. Pete is one of the finest teachers out there...you'll be rolling and grinning before you know it!!"
A wonderful help for the beginner

"I am a recent retiree and since I have always enjoyed bluegrass music I figured it was about time to learn how to play the banjo and make some music of my own. It is rather difficult and with-out the help of the DVD I purchased from Amazon I my well have given up. While the banjo is still difficult instrument to play, at least some of the mistery has been removed."

"As a complete novice I found this DVD to be a valuable teaching aid. Pete Wernick has an easy-going teaching style with a little "goofy" humour thrown in. He starts off at the very beginning--how to tune your banjo and finishes showing you how to pick (that's a banjo-type pick) a simple tune putting in all the extra notes that make it a "bluegrass" arrangement. In between, he shows you all the familiar rolls and shows you how to form chords. He plays them very slowly at first and then speeds up to show how they should sound. The split-screen views show both hands in close-up so you can clearly see what he's doing and can follow along. I recommend this DVD to anyone wishing to learn to play Bluegrass Banjo"
