Member Movie Reviews Craig S. (InnerMacro) from WAUSAU, WI Reviewed on 8/31/2023... A treacherous warlord gets his punishment for dishonoring a demon-god in feudal Japan. This movie is about a full hour of set-up before you get to see the giant kaiju samurai crush anything. There's some good camera work at that point, even if the size of the Majin is not always consistently shown (especially when the kid runs between its legs). The movie gets a full star for the ending. Seeing the first volume in color, and letterbox is a treat. Yes, it's a standard story of good vs. evil. Yes, the subtitles are not very sophicated. Even so, Daimajin ranks up there with the great monster films. It has its own style and flair." |
