I loved this movie, not for everybody

"I found this a wonderful film about a young man's struggle with his illness, its potentially fatal consequences, and his decision on how to live with it. I thought Brad Pitt did a wonderful job as did Guy Boyd as the father. To me it was the way he handled a difficult script that shows the quality of actor he is. Many people will not like the theme, the script or the way it was handled. It is not for everyone. But it is for me."

"Although Brad Pitt is now one of my favorite actors (Missouri should be proud!), I really didn't enjoy this film. The story of a young man dying from a strange disease deciding to enjoy his time on earth and falling in love sounded good, but the end result just wasn't. Now don't get me wrong, Brad did show a lot of potential, but he had a really bad script to try and work around. The other actors only did fair work. The female lead needed voice lessons and I agree with the other person who reviewed this movie that the nearly constant Bach got on my nerves--at times it didn't even really fit with what was happening. I would also like to say that the part of the race scene where one of the girls watching takes off her shirt and the camera does a close-up of a boy staring at her bouncing breasts as she jumps around was tasteless and totally unnecessary. I wanted to stop watching about halfway through, but I watched the whole thing, partly out of respect for Brad. He made a good effort, but even an actor as charismatic and talented as he couldn't redeem the movie."

"My son is a huge Brad Pitt fan. Awesome to be able to find another movie to add to his collection. Arrived before Christmas."
