A magnificent achievement that is harrowing, heartbreaking, hopeful, and triumphant. I cannot recommend this enough. A visually breathtaking film with wonderful portrayals (although I found Bale to be the only "weak" performance). You'll find your eyes filled with tears in response to the resilience and sacrifice of the human spirit, as well as the sheer horror and senselessnes of war. A beatiful film that should be seen by all. Highly recommended.
