Pretty insane plotline that keeps you on your toes! A must for terror fans!

A slow-mover that follows the established horror template, Hooper doesn't seem to stretch himself from anything he had already done, or that others were currently doing in the early 80s. The first scene is an homage to Carpenter's Halloween (well. . . hopefully it was intended as an homage, otherwise it would be a blatant rip off), and then from there, things slow down until about mid-movie. The story actually gets started about then, but still feels padded out in several places to make length. The entire plot could have been pulled off in a 30 minute TV show today. My rating takes into account when the film was made and how the slasher genre was still somewhat new, but Funhouse hasn't aged well since then.
