Movie Reviews

Forest fire Dante's Peak remake
07/28/2002
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Correctly follows the disaster flick formula: Troubled heroine (babe-cop Janet Gunn from Silk Stalkings as babe-fire captain), stud hero (with helicopter), trapped teen-agers (with family problems), motor vehicle driving through fire, endangered town (with tourists), commercial interests vs. evacuation order (with politician and traffic jam), one bad guy. Check it out.Good quality full-screen video, but with almost no special effects (e.g., lame explosions and no actual view of the final solution to their problem). Celtic soundtrack toward the end."
