"Inuyasha's sword Tetsusaiga has had its power absorbed by Hoshiyomi's sword so all he has to fight with is his claws which are pretty ineffectual against an enemy as powerful as Hoshiyomi. On top of that, he's kidnapped Kagome and plans to use her spiritual power to reconstruct the Naginata of Kenkon, a weapon that gives its wielder almost limitless power...at the expense of their soul. To buy himself time, Hoshiyomi sends his ninja demons to fight against our heroes. In the meantime, he reveals that like Inuyasha, he too once loved and was betrayed by a human, which has led him to a "Final Solution" to solving mankind's problems! While Inuyasha and the others are fighting Hoshiyomi, Kagura and the infant-like Hakudoshi continue to seek out priests to look for clues to the location of the last Shikon shard.



When you watch a show like Inuyasha, you get the sense that it will never end. I mean that in a positive and a negative way. The series is set up in a such a way with Naraku being the end all be all of the character's motivation that you are basically trapped into never letting the revenge become possible. If Inuyasha and the others finally killed Naraku, the show could not continue. The same goes for Inuyasha's and Kagome's relationship. You just sense that it will never go anywhere as long as Naraku is still alive, driving their darker passions and draining their energy and thoughts. The same can be said Miroku and Sango. Our heroes just have to keep on pounding away and hope that they can somehow claim their lives back someday instead of being obsessed with killing Naraku. All that being said, Inuyasha is consistently entertaining with its blend of action and comedy and should be seen more as a long running sitcom than the short anime series you're used to seeing with other shows.
