A struggling New York jingle writer (Dustin Hoffman) and a lonely British bureaucrat (Emma Thompson) meet by chane in London and transform one another's lives.
Pretty sad that Dustin Hoffman did something so boring like this.

Wonderful "love story" about a couple who realize that it's not too late for them to put aside fears and insecurities in order to have a relationship that could lead to something lasting. Hoffman and Thompson clicked so well together that much of this movie was ad-libbed.

This movie didn't work for me at all. The main characters weren't particularly interesting or sympatheic and the events seemed very unlikely. I normally love anything with Emma Thompson in it but even she couldn't save this movie for me.

Enjoyed this Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson movie. Sad at first, but funny how life has a way of working things out...

Very sweet mid-life romance -- funny and kind of sad at times. Dustin Hoffman is wonderful and invites empathy from the viewer.

"This is not the greatest love story or the best movie that you'll have seen in a long time but it is a good movie and really sweet (without being too sugary). Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman are what make this film good. Their acting and their chemistry are very believable."
