THE LAST DAYS OF FRANKIE THE FLY
Frankie (Dennis Hopper) is a low-level mob associate known as "The Fly"--since, like a fly, he can do no harm to anybody. Being so peaceful, Sal (Michael Madsen), his boss, never sends him for any of his brutal 'missions,' sending Vic (Dayton Callie), his right-hand man instead. One day, Frankie is assigned to collect an old debt from Joey (Kiefer Sutherland), a porno filmmaker and compulsive gambler deeply in debt to Sal. There Frankie meets Margaret (Daryl Hannah), a porno actress with whom he falls in love. To further her career, Frankie makes a personal agreement with Joey that will allow him to write the script for Margaret's next film, a serious one this time. Trouble begins when Sal discovers he's been fooled and plots revenge. Not a single one of Frankie's friends will be spared... This entertaining and highly comic film features a surprisingly warm and tender performance from Hopper, which should delight and surprise his many fans.« less
