One of the film noir plots that brings two characters together in a tense murder for hire script by Max Collins, giving the two leads a chance to fill the screen with their confusions and tensions and attraction for each other. Tom Sizemore, looking fit, and the beautiful Sasha Alexander are perfect in a fateful pavanne; Sizemore playing a stone killer trying to "retire" commands in his role - he is confused and tired and not being brain dead finds he is irresistably drawn to the beautiful librarian he has "contracted" to kill. He makes us believe in his fallible, ruthless persona. Alexander is lovely and gives a graceful and intriguing depth to her role as a woman searching for some big reality that will take her to a new level in life. A strong ending gives the story a new dimension for both their futures.
