Okay I'm going to say the title of this movie, and I assure you it's a real movie - and it's *shockingly* good.
"The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then The Bigfoot" stars man's man Sam Elliott as Calvin Barr, a multifaceted man who just wants to live a quiet life following WW2. Aidan Turner plays a younger version of Calvin, and the film cuts back and forth between the younger Calvin (who kills Hitler) and the older Calvin (who kills Bigfoot).
The killings themselves are a surprisingly small percentage of the film's run time. It's a character study; Calvin isn't left unscarred from his wartime experiences (both at home and abroad), and they inform his decision to go after Bigfoot.
Bigfoot, by the way, isn't just a lumbering humanoid - it's also a walking incubator of all kinds of nasty viruses that pose a threat to life as we know it. There's a scene right before Calvin enters the "dead zone" where he gets to choose his weapons, and it's right out of Escape from New York.
But again, these details take a back seat to the character of Calvin himself, and Elliott is all-in. I expected a cheap movie that he may have just done for the paycheck, but first-time writer-director Robert D. Krzykowski gives Calvin a rich inner life that the film explores thoroughly. Elliott delivers a moving monologue at the midpoint of the film that helps us understand why he's hesitant to take on the Bigfoot mission.
The battle with Bigfoot does take some violent and gratuitous turns which cheapens the overall feel of the film, but that's the only negative I can say about it. Larry Miller ("the five levels of drinking") and Caitlin FitzGerald (Masters of Sex) round out the cast.

Interesting multiple plotlines from the past and future. Sam Elliott shines in this!
