This is it folks... I have finally reached the top of Bad Movie Mountain. This movie is so awful that it's almost awesome, in a severe car accident kind of way.
"Miami Connection" is a hilariously inept martial arts rock musical action movie (!) about Dragon Sound, a terrible synth-rock band whose members also happen to be tae kwon do masters (who also all live in the same house, go to the same college, and travel everywhere together in the same car). After Dragon Sound lands a regular gig at the hottest nightclub in Florida they end up constantly getting into battles with jealous rival band members, random bikers and street gangs and finally, a troop of motorcycle riding, drug dealing ninjas who apparently control the Florida cocaine trade. I swear I am not making this up. The terrible acting, poorly edited fight scenes, outrageous Mullets, and hilariously awful songs are just some of the highlights. Seriously, you need to hear the Dragon Sound song "Against the Ninja." These guys sing songs about Martial Arts with the same kind of fervor that Stryper possesses when they sing about God.
This long forgotten Z movie was rediscovered by the cult flick specialists at Alamo Drafthouse, who bought a theatrical print on eBay and loved it so much that they tracked down producer/director Y.K. Kim and got his permission to re-release it. The world has been enriched by their efforts!!
