Movie Reviews

Absolutely beautiful
mcerner | Princeton, NJ United States | 10/30/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The trio of Mutter, Previn and Shott is filmed from various camera angles, changing from close ups on the players' hands or faces to more distant shots, right to the back of the auditorium at times. This lends a very creative and interesting perspective, since focus on a single scene or performer can become boring after a while. The picture is crisp and clear and colorful. The sound is excellent. The music is played beautifully, with stress on the lovely melodies of the piano trios. An excellent performance."
Annoying camera work

(3 out of 5 stars)

"I have to disagree with the previous reviewer. The frequent cuts between camera angles is something that I find a little annoying. Too many close ups, not enough torso shots...

The picture is crystal clear and the sound is great."
In my opinion... Video editing is just TERRIBLE!

"It's impossible for me to watch this DVD without feeling like screaming. Their playing is wonderful, but the video editing is SOOO choppy. Perhaps it allows one to feel like what it might feel like to have Attention Deficit Disorder - I don't know. The angles and perspectives change every 2 to 4 seconds without ever focusing on one person from one perspective for even half of a musical phrase! Anyone want to buy a used copy?"
