"Mr. Church" tells the story of a unique friendship that develops when a little girl and her dying mother retain the services of a talented cook - Henry Joseph Church. What begins as a six month arrangement instead spans into fifteen years and creates a family bond that lasts forever.

I didn't know what to expect from this movie, but SOOOOO glad I watched it. Eddie Murphy plays Henry Joseph Church, a man who could have been anything he wanted, but he loved and chose to cook. He loved jazz and loved books, which he brought with him everywhere he went. That's how he and Charlotte became friends...with his lending library.

The movie is the story of how important one person can be in your life. Great storyline and very interesting movie. Well worth your time.

This was an unexpected jewel with a pretty unique slow plotline inspired by a true friendship. Funnyman Eddie Murphy is not so funny in this but I think you will enjoy his change into a more serious role. A must for Murphy fans and fans of slow real life style plotlines!
