Most people who successfully commit suicide never say a thing about it. Quite often no hints. It happens and then everybody else has to deal with it. Here the daughter is being very vocal about it for a change.

One realizes at some point in life that one has no control over what other people do. If someone is intent on harming themselves, eventually they are going to do it. Is such an individual thinking straight when it happens? Nothing should ever be that bad. There's always something better one could do.
