This film is far more entertaining then I expected. Ray Stevenson (Punisher War Zone,Rome) stars as the CO of a group of mercs in Eastern Europe hired to take a scientist to a WW2 Nazi bunker. An interesting and very creepy film. Does a successful job of creating and maintaining a sense of doom throughout. The cut and paste cover art is hideous.

OUTPOST is an extremely interesting little Scottish film. The story is a simple one, a group of mercenaries are hired to escort a client into a war-zone in Eastern Europe. Easy in, easy out. But nothing is ever as easy as it sounds, is it? Soon, the mercenaries are being picked off, one by one. How can you fight something that isn't there?
Some of the previous reviewers have termed this a "zombie" movie, but it isn't. A zombie is killed by a head shot. These creatures aren't. It's a bit more complex than that. And there lies the fun. OUTPOST is a gory blast of a good time and has one of the more unique plots than one would find in a horror film. Yes, it's all been done before, but OUTPOST makes it seem fresh. It also boasts some of the most disturbing images that call back to a all too real past.
Your mission--see OUTPOST. It's a quirky, delicious horror treat. With a SS officer or two.

Don't believe the hype... This is not a zombie movie, per se. At least in the usual mindless, gut-munching way. It's more like a Nazi ghost story than a Nazi zombie movie.
That said, the movie does seem relatively well-shot and well-acted, aside from some shaky camera work and seemingly slight overexposure in the early part of the movie.
Honestly, I'd hoped for a bit more scares / suspense. In a few parts, it ALMOST delivered there. There was certainly a tiny bit of suspense / atmospheric horror feel in certain parts. But the promise of those suspenseful moments was never delivered on. I kept expecting something to jump out and blow my mind (or at least munch some guts or brains), but nothing ever really did and I was disappointed. Wasted potential. It just feels like this movie could have been so much more and so easily. I really wanted to like it, and I ALMOST DID. But, on the whole I was disappointed that it didn't do more. The ending felt more like something fit for an episode of the X-Files...
I guess I'd say it's "good, but not great." Better than Horrors of War, but certainly no Romero or 28 days later.

A film I got on a whim that I really didn't expect much from. Boy was I wrong! I don't want to give too much away so I won't speak of the major plot but this little known film is well worth your time if you're into Zombies or Nazi's. From reading a bit of the background on this film it is from Scotland and they spent only 1 million on it but don't let that question it's contents. The acting is great as is the character development. The only issue I had with the film at all is a few of the accents are a bit thick so you have to listen up closely. If I hadn't have found this on Swapa I would have been happy to pay retail price for it. This is a keeper for me.
