Movie Reviews

Partners in Action
Jeffry W. Hill | Florida | 03/22/2005
(2 out of 5 stars)

"Does this title deliver?

True, the title portrays "parteners". A smart kid, longing for a life of crime and easy gangster poses. An ageing (missing)father figure with a pony tail, set to take a fall by not so true blue police, having, himself quit the force after loseing his wife and child to a traffic accident several years prior.

The most "action" comes from the exploding suitcase in the basement. Ah, the basement. Every teen male's refuge to plot against the world of adults and take prisoners to inflict teen rage. But back to the expoding sutcase, bad guy police double cross and hide the "Blow" for real bad guys to search out. The resourceful kid "partener" rigs the suitcase with off the shelf, should I say in the basement exploding booby grenade and flours the bad guy with "Blow". This ensues in a three way shootout. The kid with a paint gun, he misses, Mr. Ponytail "partner" and the guy with "Blow" on his face, he gets blown away, ending with the remaining real bad guy getting shot three times by the bad guy police in front of all the good police. Not so smart.

Where's the money and the suvellance tapes from the opening shots? Not to worry, you will forget about all that detail stuff after a long police cars and motorcyle action chase, shot with a shakey hand held and the other low budget trick shots.

I did.

Thank you Film Board of Canada. You have produced just another example of why state sponsored industry/art,

ain't artist or at best can't foster a film making environment.

"Partners in Action" is a distraction."
