Member Movie Reviews K. K. (GAMER) Reviewed on 11/7/2023... The beginning was a bit slow and having Wahlberg was a policeman was a mismatch based on his history before becoming famous. Wahlberg and Monaghan's acting was pretty weak in the beginning and got better as the movie progressed. The police and terrorist fight scenes were pretty action packed. Not sure how much of this was based on actual events since some seemed to be over the top Hollywood. I preferred the Stronger movie with Jake Gyllenhaal but action scenes in Patriot's Day were pretty impressive with the special effects.  Gloria B. (glowbird) from SPOKANE, WA Reviewed on 5/11/2019... Ordinarily, this is one I would skip because of the unfortunate title. However, I had no idea there was a "day" so named. It's about the bombings that took place at the Boston Marathon. What the film does well is to make these mindless tragedies real in a more tangible way than news coverage ever can. I'd recommend watching to "un-numb" oneself to what is becoming an American tragedy. Mark Wahlberg is very likeable and believable here. 2 of 3 member(s) found this review helpful.
