"Great Family movie. Children want to watch it all the time. No obscenities. No bad language."
Pretty boy and pretty paint, not much else

"Don't hate him because he's beautiful: A willowy blonde-tressed teenaged boy (Leif Garrett) who looks more like a 70s pop-star than a Pony Express Rider teams up with San Domingo, his loyal medicine-hat pinto Indian Pony, and the two embark on mail-delivery adventures in pre-Civil War Wyoming. Based on the novel by Marguerite Henry, but liberties have been taken. Nice enough made-for-TV Disney fare, and certainly a treat for admirers of pinto and Paint horses.

Leif at his best

"This is Leif Garrett when he was still young and not into drugs and a self-destructive life pattern. I have this book and love this little story about a boy with a father who loves him but doesn't know how to show love and who is extra tough on him to try to make him strong. His father doesn't understand this boy who is like his mother; sensitive and loving, and so he is always ragging him about everything. The boy becomes a Pony Express rider and escapes his father and goes off to find a new life. He also gets to be near the horse he loves. Be aware that this story has a sad ending. So be prepared to cry. But it's worth it and this is an excellent story to show kids what the Old West and the Pony Express were like."
