Member Movie Reviews K. K. (GAMER) Reviewed on 9/7/2024... A rare horror jewel. The English audio only listed but barely any English spoke was pretty annoying and took away from this being perfect! In this oddball holiday fantasy/adventure flick (with just a teeny hint of horror) from Finland, a mining expedition atop a Finnish mountain has uncovered the long lost burial site of the original Santa Claus... who, as it turns out, isn't quite as jolly, or as dead, as they expected. Now it's up to a group of local reindeer-herding yokels and one brave kid to save Christmas, and the world. If you can imagine John Carpenter's 'The Thing' re-imagined as a holiday special, you're almost in the ballpark of this utterly bizarre, yet still quite enjoyable, flick. NOTE: The film is mostly in Finnish, (with subtitles), though a few bits of dialogue are in English...in case that sort of thing is a deal breaker for you. 2 of 2 member(s) found this review helpful.
