The 3 Corman classics on this DVD set have only been previously released on a myriad of budget DVDs that ranged in quality from mediocre to downright unwatchable.
F I N A L L Y ......... they are here in great restored and remastered versions! ! !
Film Chest is relatively new to the home video market but have scored a direct hit here. They have found the best 35mm elements, done a digital HD transfer and digitally wiped away all the print damage, creating a video transfer that looks much like these movies when they were originally released in theaters way back when (just check out the restoration demo in the "special features" section of each movie and be totally amazed at how different the pre-print material looks from the digitally corrected final versions!) The sound has also been remastered and a 5.1 soundtrack added to both DEMENTIA 13 and THE TERROR. Unfortunately, BUCKET OF BLOOD contains only a mono soundtrack. Both DEMENTIA 13 and BUCKET OF BLOOD are in beautifully rendered black and white. THE TERROR contains great color and each movie here are presented in widescreen.
So, if you are a cheapie movie fanatic like myself, and finally want great versions of these movies instead of dollar store rejects...then, invest your $$$ in this set because it is worth every single penny you pay for it.
