"If you grew up watching Sesame Street, then you will LOVE having this video for your kids. You will recognize many of the songs and skits. No, it is not as flashy and digital as modern Sesame Street, but that's a good thing, in my opinion. If your children watch a lot of TV, their attention span might not allow them to watch this video. If you prefer to use TV/videos sparingly, like we do, your kids will love it as much as you will. I just hope they put this on DVD!"
One of the best of the Sesame Street videos

"This video has a few of the very best clips from Sesame Street ever---like the one where cats go in a dollhouse and knock down the little cups, and the one where a ball goes down an elaborate roller coaster setup, and then is ground up into smaller balls which go on ice cream sundaes! My boys love to watch this. My only problem with it is Big Bird's try at acting like Johnny Carson---it's out of character. He acts nothing like his regular personality in the between clips part of this video, and that's a little annoying, but not terribly so."
Good for beginners

"This is standard Sesame Street, pre-Elmo. Big Bird is the host of a game show that introduces numbers through clips and songs. My little one doesn't seem to like thistape, she wanders from the TV whenever it's on but for the child of the '70's this is the tape to have from the king in the castle to the martian girl."
Great, but why does this need a regional code?!?

"My daughter loves the DVD, although the lower numbers are definitely a bit boring--for both of us! Unlike one of the other Sesame Street DVDs we have, this one forces you to watch a minute-long spiel on how the money used to buy the DVD goes to support children's programming all over the world. I can't get my computer to skip over it. Which brings me to the next point: WHY is there a regional code on this and other Sesame Street DVDs? I'm in Germany, and I have to watch these on my computer instead of TV because some schmo at Sony thought the DVD should only be viewable in North America? How does Sony or anyone else benefit from this? There are millions of Americans living abroad who want their children to see these, and the regional coding just results in fewer people buying the product. Sigh... Anyway, it's very good, and Elmo-free."
Great "Best Of" Sesame Street Collection

"I was surprised to find out how lame Sesame Street has become when turning it on for the first time as an adult in 2002. Jim Henson is sorely missed. I'm grateful for the SS DVDs. This counting one is great, it's a collection of classic SS skits, with Big Bird introducing each clip in kind of a stand-up comic type role. We especially like the one where the ball goes through the "roller coaster" track, and the skits with the Count. Very funny, simple, and wholesome entertainment. Teaches counting too, of course.
