"SICK TO DEATH 4 Movie Pack features an excellent disaster film, two made-for-TV medical stories plus a revenge tale where a most unusual weapon is used.
SYNOPSES:
ANATOMY OF AN ILLNESS-- True story of a magazine editor stricken by what is believed to be an incurable disease. He devises his own successful treatment plan, despite much resistance from doctors. Look for a cameo by singer Anne Murray.
MESMERIZED-- In 1880s New Zealand, an abused wife kills her husband with hypnotism, then faces a court trial.
STIGMA-- A new doctor in a resort community soon realizes there's an epidemic of VD that's been ignored by his predecessor. Politics, prejudice and a close-minded populace stand in his way. Radio DJ "Cousin Brucie" appears as himself.
VIRUS-- Bowdlerized version of a fine Japanese-made disaster flick somewhat diminshes an excellent story. A plane crash releases a military manufactured toxin that kills virtually everyone on Earth. A group of surviving scientists in Antarctica worry that an impending earthquake will set off automated nuclear missiles, one of which is targeted for their base.
KINGS OF CLASSIC HORROR 4 Movie Pack (also from BCI / Eclipse) showcases vintage Lugosi, Price, Karloff and Chaney.
BRENTWOOD's 4-fers are nicely priced movie bundles. Video and sound quality of these digitally unrestored public domain films is generally fine. Discs are dual-side recorded.
