A surprise awaits three college students (Brenton Thwaites, Beau Knapp, Olivia Cooke) who think they have tracked a rival computer hacker to a shed in the Nevada desert.

I thought this was pretty good with a suspenseful and creepy sci-fi plotline!

I wanted to like this movie. Lawrence Fishburne has been good in everything I can remember seeing him in, and Olivia Cooke is super cute, and Brenton Thwaites was excellent in this effort. I love the genre. I don't mind quirky.

That said, this film lacked anything remotely resembling continuity, much of it was nonsensical, and there was never any real point to any of it. The ending...talk about anti-climactic.

The only saving grace, besides Brenton Thwaites's performance, was the film direction. Lots of moody, interesting shots. Lighting used in inventive ways, so much so that the effects brought as much to the scenes as another character might have. An artist at work. Too bad the plot wasn't as brilliant. At all.

Two stars.
