Dozens of stars

"Much of ST CLAIR's STAR POWER movie pack is made-for-TV films that feature very prominent (or soon-to-be famous) actors.
HIGHLIGHTS:
TO ALL MY FRIENDS ON SHORE is a moving story of a blue collar man (Bill Cosby) with big dreams. His plans and life are changed when his only child develops sickle cell anemia.
KATHERINE is a remarkable film from the early 1970s featuring newcomer Sissy Spacek. She's an activist who defies her wealthy parents by going a Third World country, where she tries to make a difference in the lives of its poorest people.
MAYBE I'LL COME HOME IN THE SPRING is from the same era as KATHERINE. Here, Sally Field also leaves her parents' comfortable home, lives in a commune with boyfriend David Carradine and helps out at a progressive inner-city grade school.
BORN TO WIN is the ironically titled story of a NYC hustler (George Segal) who's on the run from drug dealers, the cops and himself. Look for Robert De Niro in an early role as a detective.
The cast of CONCRETE COWBOYS is a who's who of Nashville stars, circa 1979. This is a buddy-road pic of two men who travel the country in search of adventure.
ST. CLAIR DVD multi-packs are reasonably priced, and offer fine quality video/audio transfers of unrestored public domain material. Discs are single-side recorded, plastic storage cases fairly sturdy, liner notes appear on box's back cover.
ALL STARS 50 Movie Pack is a larger set of similar fare.

Nine Movies of Public Domain Goodness

"Star Power is a collection of movies with big name stars that have only one thing in common: they are all public domain and as such it is possible for them to be presented in highly affordable collections. I paid $9.98 for my set and that comes down to about one dollar per movie. The way that movie tickets cost nowadays, you really cannot complain about this collection.
An added bonus of this collection is that most of these movies are not available on other public domain collections. All in all, Star Power is a great 9 movie collection.
Anyways, here is how I rate the movies in Star Power:
Great:
Death Sentence (1979)
Concrete Cowboys (1979)
Good:
Maybe I'll Come Home in the Spring (1970)
To All My Friends on Shore (1971)
Choices (1981)
Dream to Believe (1986)
Average:
Born to Win (1971)
Katherine (1975)
Bad:
Mesmerized (1986)"
