"If you dig Stephen Stills, you need this dvd. The sound quality is great, the graphics are killer, and the band flat out rips. Nasty setlist, not one weak track on the disc. Manassas rolls through side one of their debut album and Stills' performance makes you realize how incredible he really is. "Song of Love" into "Rock n Roll Crazies" is unreal. Totally underrated in my opinion."
Looks like the re-release

"I looked up the German live recording which has long been available, and, in response to another poster's question, it looks like a re-release as the set list appears to be the same. Too bad as I would have enjoyed an additional performance from them."
A bit of a misnomer

"It was recorded "live" in a studio for a German television show that aired in 1972. The performance is only 36 minutes long, and some of the best tunes from the first Manassas album (esp. Johnny's Garden) are nowhere to be found here. But what did make it onto the DVD absolutely kills, and I only paid $5 for a gently used copy, so it's worth seeking out if you can get it cheaply. I actually prefer most of the performances on the DVD to the original studio versions of the same songs. Like everything else about this band, it's just a shame that there wasn't a more definitive live document to commemorate what was obviously one of the most talented rock outfits of the early 70s."
A Classic Masterpiece

""Stepehn Stills and Mannassas: Live" is a surprisingly refreshing piece of work. It is more of a live jam session rather than a concert. The result is an insiders' look at a truly classic rock band releasing its abundant creativity without the hype and distraction of the concert arena. Stills shines in this outstanding performance, demonstrating the full range of his electric guitar skills. This DVD also captures Stills at the peak of his vocal quality. The only thing this lacks is a demonstration of his powerful accoustic guitar mastery. That notwithstanding, this DVD is a must for any fan of "70's Rock."
Better than nothing....

"Hey guys, it mightn't be the best vision of "live" Stephen Stills/Manassas; viz. OK, it's "live" in a German TV studio rather than a live concert; but "God" isn't making any more footage of Stills/Manassas. Better to have 3 stars of something, than 5 stars of nothing....
Despite the great success of "law firms" C,S,N and C,S,N & Y, Stephen Stills peaked in Manassas."
