After the success of films based on comic books (Batman Begins,Spider-Man Trilogy,X-Men Trilogy,etc) there's been an increase in films being released that attempt to cash in. This is one of the weaker efforts. The super hero romantic comedy. Who exactly this movie is ment for is a mystery to me. Comic book fans have no reason to see it whatsoever. This waste of cinema joins Jumber,Hancock & Push in the don't need to see category. It uses the costume super hero for the punchline to it's joke and fails to be at all entertaining or original. Anna Faris and Eddie Izzard play their roles so well, it's enjoyable despite the shaky acting of Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson. Rainn Wilson is great as the guy you do not quite know why you're best friends with, and yet still tell him all the things you know you should not. It may seem critical, but I enjoyed this movie enough to request it off of here. It's a light movie, perfect for in-between time or just to have something to watch. I mean, not needed it like "had to have it" but needed a good laugh. This one had me laughing much more than any of the lame gross-out comedies that have been all the rage lately. Is it high cinema? Y-- No... But it's pretty darned funny if you accept that it's not high cinema. I mean, who throws a shark at an ex-lover? Honestly? Super-girl, super-villain, super "nice guy," and more pent up angst and romantic frustration than you can safely shake a stick at.
