The name of the main charactors were: marta de la cruz, ramon, samuel, ms. de la cruz, abby, jackie, and the police.
On a scale from 1-5, i rate this movie 3 stars.
i watched this movie, because my spanish teacher was teaching my class about the quinceanera.
The two major themes in this movie were: immigration, and quince.
one thing i liked about the movie was: the storyline. It was very "original" and involved a girl's birthday and a crush.
My favorite part of the movie was when ramon's pulled up to marta's house in a junky car, and the door fell off when he opened it for Marta. I liked it because it was funny.
In this movie, i didn't like that acting too much. It seemed too played out.
I would recommend this movie this movie to any spanish teacher trying to teach their class about quinceanaera, or the spanish heritage, because this movie teaches all about it.
one adjective that describes this movie is: "educational" but "so-so" because that is my feelings about it.

"I watched this movie for Spanish class because we were learning about a Mexican celebration called a Quinceanera. What I liked about the movie was that it is like real life problems. The actors didn't seem like they were reading right off a piece of paper. They had real emotions. Also the things Marta did seemed like real things that girls her age would do. My favorite part out of the whole movie was when Ramon did something very special for Marta at the very end. It was very touching. I didn't like that Ramon would just yell at Marta for any reason then is her friend again the next few minutes. Also it wasn't our style; it was a different style because the movie was done in 1990 so it makes it a little different. I still enjoyed the movie. I would recommend this movie to a Spanish class or families that want to learn about are learning about the Mexican culture.

"I watched this movie, because it was part of what we were learning in spanish class. This movie was okay overall, but it's a little hard to rate when this isn't my type of style. I am a big critic when it come to movies so this wouldn't be my first choice, but again thos is okay for an educational movie . What caught my attention, is when Marta was not able to continue her plans have her quincinera, because her father was worried that the immagration would catch him, and send him back to Mexico. that was cool how the director set it up that ceated a lot of excitment. so it had a good story to it. My faveriate part is when Ramon was in the car and when he asked if Marta wanted to get in the door fell off.but this movie was good for who ever directed it.

"We watched this movie so we can learn about a family with a quince to plan and some diffulculties. This movie is about Immigration, Family, and Relationships. I liked when Marta helped her dad. I also like when Marta gave Ramon inspiration on trying to read again. The movie was funny and touching. It was funny because Ramon's car door fell off. I didn't like when Romon was hitting on Marta because Ramon is too old for her. I will recommend a Spanish teacher to buy it for her class. I wouldn't buy it to just watch anytime. J.W."
An exciting yet educational movie

"We watched this movie in spanish class because we were learning about spanish traditions. It was a great movie and exciting movie to watch durning sapnis. The three major topics were immigration, Martas qunceanera, and Mr. De la Cruz's problem. What I liked about this movie was the ending because it was very unexpected. I would have never have been able to prodict that ending.
My favorite part of the movie was when Marta tried to help her father solve his problem. It was very touching, nice, and took a lot of guts to do. I didn't like that Martas father yelled at her for trying to help him solve his problem. I would recommend this video to any teacher or family because it teaches you to stick with what you have.
