Wow, not at all what I had expected! Seth Rogen in a serious role and a not-so-good ending for a romance story. Guess that about sums it up.

One that you definitely would not want to watch again. Michelle Williams takes you for a turn that no one will like.

If you want a typical romance (or a typical Seth Rogen role), this isn't it. But if you're tired of the Cinderella story, and want a more realistic picture of romantic relationships, this might be up your alley. The film deals with choosing between love and lust; do you want someone that makes your toes curl or someone you can see yourself waking up with for the rest of your life? Because, let's face it folks, you don't always get both, at least not for the long haul. And like in life, not every romance has a happy ending. Michelle Williams, per the usual, gives a stellar performance, although watching her awkward relationship with Seth Rogen's character is trying at times. Plus you get an unexpected treat with the casting of Sarah Silverman. There are a few (slightly) graphic sex scenes (definitely not one for the kiddos) that are a little unexpected, but necessary to get across the message of the film.
You'll laugh a little, you might cry, but it'll definitely leave you thinking about life, love and what "happily ever after" really means outside of a Hollywood rom com. Probably not something you'll watch again and again, but well worth seeing once.
