Member Movie Reviews Matt B. from GETZVILLE, NY Reviewed on 4/30/2012... This quiet comedy was okay. If you know academia, you may have a hard time getting past the howlers (they should have hired a teaching assistant in English as a consultant to correct the goofs). The mean lines are half-hearted and caricatures (the natty dean, the humorless female faculty) not cruel enough. Plus, Luke Wilson mumbles and has that sad sack / semi-slacker way about him that has become too familiar since the late 90s. Gretchen Mol is not in it enough - she improves everything about every scene that she's in.  Michelle S. (Chelly10s) from W HOLLYWOOD, CA Reviewed on 2/2/2011... This movie surprised me. It's not hilarious or slapstick comedy, but it focuses on the main character, and you end up really connecting with him. He's a good teacher and true friend, so his character is very likable. The comic relief comes in the form of David Koechner who actually tones down his usual ridiculousness to excellently execute the role of the bigfoot hunting Anthropology professor. I am generally not a fan of his work, but this was a job well done. His character added a lot to the movie. If you liked "Chalk" or "Greenberg", you'll definitely like "Tenure".
