An ambitious film when considering it was released in 1936, spanning 1940 to 2036 in epic fashion. Arguably, the film predicts WWII, but the aftermath is more akin to how later films would portray WWIII. Other notable inventions seen here are the wrist-phone, chemical warfare, paratroopers, and the helicopter - however with all these advances, it takes until 2036 to land on the moon . . . but the prediction came true nonetheless! The dialogue has not aged well in some places, being a product of the age, but it's easy to see how influential this movie must have been on scores of sci fi film makers for decades to come. For me, the best parts were in the mid-era where cars are drawn by horses and the "Wandering Sickness" turned townsfolk into zombies! Check out the helmet on the "Brotherhood of Steel" guy :^D
