Movie Reviews

Horror on the Range
Scott T. Rivers | Los Angeles, CA USA | 01/25/2010
(3 out of 5 stars)

"Mostly filmed in the Mojave Desert, "Tombstone Canyon" (1932) combines B-Western action with atmospheric chills. Hard-riding cowboy star Ken Maynard and his wonder horse Tarzan track down the mysterious Phantom Killer (played with creepy flair by Sheldon Lewis) for 62 minutes of Saturday Matinee nostalgia. One of Maynard's better efforts, with solid camera work from Ted McCord and a surprising plot twist during the climax. Don't miss the pre-Code World Wide Pictures logo!"
