Movie Reviews

HISTORICAL VENOM !!!!!
JUAN MARTIN GABASTOU | Weston Hills, FL United States | 10/18/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"And the only Venom on video around so I had to get it in spite of all the bad reviews ! The picture is OK for a vhs transfer, the concert is almost an hour long at the Hammersmith Odeon (not Camden Palace). The sound is bad but not hideous and gets better the louder you play it (rock'n roll after all ! ).Mantas guitar sounds loud and clear, unlike on the studio albums;Cronos'''s bass is purposely trebley and Abbadon's drums are faintingly but correctly (except fot the cymbals) mixed in so you'll be OK if you have a subwoofer, which I lack so I had to crank the bass all the way up and fell short anyway. The audience is hysterical and can be heard along with the music even during the louder passages,a minor annoyance. The performance is sloppier (if possible) than those on the studio records. This band once proclaimed they were the worst rock'n roll band. That may be true, but it's the one I like the most !!!!!!!

Last minute : There are 2 other Venom concerts on VHS; Live '90 from the Tony Dolan era and The Second Coming-live Dynamo '96. Both can be found transferred to dvd-r if you care to search a little. Both are corkers and must-haves."

"Ok, so you might have recalled the subliminal title from Track 8 on 'At War With Satan'. But if you're a real VENOM fan, do you seriously need a review on the only available DVD of Venom LIVE to date???

Do ya?????????????? Please, do yourself a favour. BUY THIS DVD!
