Great movie

"With suspense and funny. Vinci refers to Leonardo Da Vinci and the movie is about Da Vinci's only painting in Poland that robbers are attempting to steal. Quite different from the Hollywood action movie and a nice illustration that Poles value wit above brute power. Only minus is that plot is a little hard to follow; you need to be quite attentive at the end to understand what the unfolding of the plot actually was."
A modern-day crime comedy/drama

"Juliusz Machulski brings us a modern-day crime comedy/drama with "Vinci" (2004). Similar to his earlier work "Vabank," the storyline of "Vinci" has more twists to it than a simple crime drama. The film blends a combination of action and suspense around the story of a grand-scale crime, with moments of humor throughout. The crime involves the theft of the world-famous painting done by Leonardo Da Vinci on display in Krakow, Poland.
The story begins with a man, Cuma, being released from prison. Thinking big, Cuma schemes to steal the Vinci painting with the assistance of his ex-partner in crime who hesitantly agrees to help him.
Although the film is considered a comedy, it can easily pass for a typical crime drama.
If you enjoyed Machulski's earlier work, "Vabank," you should also like "Vinci." In addition to the similarities between the two films, "Vinci" has more appeal with its better special effects and modern theme.
