Struggling single mother Audrey (a fine and appealing portrayal by Tammy Blanchard) and her daughter Cheyenne go check out a farmhouse that Audrey inherited from her recently deceased grandfather. Things turn nasty after a couple of thugs hired by the eager to please Bobby (David Spade) show up to force Audrey to give up the property's water rights to them.
Director Dustin Fairbanks relates the tight and gripping story at a brisk pace as well as generates a good deal of tension. The solid acting by the capable cast keeps this movie interesting.: Bruce Dern as Bobby's crusty, but ailing grandfather Calvin, Guillermo Diaz as volatile and sadistic loose cannon Rainy, Dwight Henry as the more laidback and sensible Jawari, Frank Whaley as wimpy religious kook David, and James Earl Jones as friendly lawyer Pendleton. The sweet relationship between Audrey and Cheyenne gives this film some real heart while the constant bickering between radically contrasting goons Rainy and Jawari proves to be often hilarious and always entertaining. With a Neat ironic twist at the very end, too. A cool and enjoyable flick.

A little bit of a fizzle near the end but this had a strong terror captive plotline with one character jumping insanity. A must for terror fans!
