The back story: A psychics teacher gets suspended after stepping out of retirement to engage in a fight in hopes of making money to save his house. Despite his wife's advisement that they move into an apartment because she does not want to worry about him nor does she want him dead, he advances into the biggest tournament in the MMA world known as Sparta. Along the way, throw in an estranged father and brother, whom I was cheering for more than a man who was about to lose his house or fear that he was going to lose his house yet he claimed he and his wife were both working three jobs each and what's worse because he does not want to work at a job that was going to pay him $9 an hour. I wanted to like the movie, I really did, but for some reason it did not work out. Don't get me wrong it's a nice movie to watch, but for me nice is not going to help with a second sitting to it.

Excellent movie, it was unjustly overlooked due to poor marketing and a bad release date on the studio's part. Don't let that prevent from enjoying a well-made, finely acted movie. Just because it's about 2 MMA fighters don't let that lead to an assumption that it's a lightweight story. Great depth on the character development for multiple roles. I give this movie a full recommendation.
