The Wiggles, that wacky outfit wowing kids from Down Under, welcome preschoolers for a lively, loopy musical fiesta on their sixth release, Dance Party. In addition to Murray, Greg, Jeff, and Anthony, Oz's answer to the Fa... more »b Four, chiming in on this 15-song charmer of a dance- and sing-along are the usual wiggly suspects--Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog, Captain Feathersword, and the remarkably light-on-her-feet hostess of the party, Dorothy the Dinosaur. Along with all the fancy footwork, expect the frenetic pace of all Wiggles offerings (nobody's attention span is apt to be challenged by a 15-segment, 40-minute video), but also expect a less polished production than in previous titles. The gang's unfamiliar hair styles and other telltale clues bear the trappings of an early performance. Which in no way dilutes the fun-for-all delirium. In fact, the goofier-than-ever gags and graceful child dance troupes featured on a couple of numbers here propel this tape into top-shelf Wiggles territory. Songs include "Can You Point Your Fingers and Do the Twist?," "Wags the Dog," "Five Little Joeys," "Di Dicki Do Dum," "I'm a Cow," "Do the Flap," "On Your Holiday," "Hat on My Head," "The Magic Bag," "Brown Girl in the Ring," "Georgia's Song," "Our Boat Is Rocking on the Sea," "Nicky Nacky Nocky Noo," "Dorothy's Dance Party," and "The Big Red Car." --Tammy La Gorce« less

My children weren't really used to the "vintage" Wiggles, hence the 4 stars. Nonetheless,
they loved the songs and were happy with the DVD.

The Wiggles cashing out? Not too hot...

"Our 2 year olds love the Wiggles, but they actually walked out of the room on this video! Almost looks like The Wiggles are cashing out by publishing obviously OLD videos of theirs as a "new release". Maybe its their publisher doing this, but the quality is poor compared to more recent productions, and some of the songs are actually pretty lame (also compared to more recent productions). If you are a Wiggles fanatic, you'll probably buy this anyway, but you'll be disappointed. If you're new to The Wiggles, don't buy this: buy Wiggle Time, Wake Up Jeff, Toot Toot, or Yummy Yummy instead. Those will not disappoint."
Great Show, Very Poor DVD

"My two daughters (ages 3 and 18 mos.) love the Wiggles and this particular program is loads of fun. Both girls dance, jump around and have a blast to this program. However, I was extremely disappointed with the DVD transfer. Hit Entertainment obviously doesn't think parents care a hoot about DVD production values on kids titles. There are no menus (the video simply begins when the tape loads), no features (a song menu would have been the least we could expect), and finally--and this is absolute rock bottom--the chapter stops are completely random, often coming in the middle of a song or skit. I realize this is an old tape being re-released on DVD, but someone should have at least put the chapter stops at logical points throughout the program and given viewers a menu so that we could get to our kids' favorite spots quickly. It's a shame that such little care was put into the DVD production values for such a good program. It is worth owning because my girls love the program, but from a DVD standpoint, it is a big disappointment."
It's all about the Kids

"OK, Anthony needs a serious haircut in this one, there are 3 Captain Featherswords (the field brothers actually), the video quality is poor and the sound quality isnt much better, BUT this is an excellent video. The music is very good and it is very entertaining for my little boy. It is a classic wiggles video. It has all the elements of what makes the wiggles such hits, great music, easy dances, and 4 colorful guys with their wiggly friends Wags, Dorothy, the Captain and Henry the Octopus. I would love to see them remake this video but since I dont see that happening in the near future I would say that this is a great video that your children will love (just make sure that your kids dont see you laughing at it as they are watching)"
Very good for an old tape!

"I waited many months to buy this one. I have all the other Wiggles tapes and CD's, but the reviews on this one kept me back. I finally broke down and bought it since our baby watches The Wiggles EVERY night before bed, and nothing else will work to sooth her to sleep! I find this 1995 release to be very good, despite the bad reviews. The songs are well done and very catchy. I even ordered the CD! It is less polished then the others, but they use the same format of sing and dance and there are lots of children on this tape, which my 11 month old loves to see! Captain Feathersword is not with the Wiggles yet and is played by Anthony or his two brothers, and Dorothy the Dinosaur and Henry the Octopus both have awful costumes, but still you get the idea. It certainly is not the best Wiggles tape, but it is nice to see the boys so young and fresh. My baby claps her hands and bounces up and down to this tape just as she does to all of them. Wakeup Jeff, Wiggle Time and Toot Toot are the best though. It was upsetting that Lyric Studios deceived us in there packaging of this tape with 2001 on it and the new character costumes! It should show The Wiggles as there are in the tape on the cover and tell the year it was taped: 1995. Other then that I, and my baby, really like it. Don't hesitate to buy this one to add to your Wiggles collection!"
Poor quality, GOOD tunes!

"Our 2.5 year old and 15 month old are insanely into the Wiggles. It is truly scary. First viewing of this video left me feeling like they wouldn't want to see it again. Bad quality sound and visuals. HOWEVER, for some reason, this is the one they want to watch over and over again. And I have to say the tunes are very catchy. Many times I have found myself humming "The Friendly Pirate Ship" at work (so much for that promotion). I think this one is worth buying, even though it can be hard to look at. Let's face it, the quality on the others is just barely better than amatuer anyway. Kids just love these guys."
