I'm trying to find the name of a film I saw on TV 30-35 years ago (not Made-for-TV). All I can remember is some scientists/archeologists were excavating a site and they found some (or a) humanoid buried in a uniform similar to that of a spanish conquestidor but the body was of gigantic proportions. The movie you are describing is called GIANT FROM THE UNKNOWN and it was made in the 1950's (i wanna say 1955 but i'm not sure of the exact year). The guy playing the resurrected Conquistador is an actor by the name of Buddy Baer. He was a professional wrestler turned actor and appeared in many films of the 1940's and 1950's. This movie is available on DVD and was released by Image Entertainment many years ago. Do not buy the public domain version because it sucks. The Image Entertainment version is beautiful quality. I know because i own it and watch this movie 4 times a year (at least). I am very much a big fan of retro horror/sci fi and i am something of an expert on the subject. |
