I second Anne of Green Gables (made in Canada I believe). Some others I didn't see listed, Milo and Otis The NeverEnding Story Ella Enchanted The Princess Bride Nanny McPhee Iron Will Flight of the Navigator two other movies we really loved, but our youngest hasn't seen yet because they just had to throw a few swear words in, #@$!!, are Wild America (based on a true story about three brothers) and holes. I just can't sign off without commenting on Finding Nemo, Lion King, Bambi and thing where a parent dies. It is not RECOMMENDED for children under 5/6 to view movies showing the death of a parent. I know there will be some who's child didn't come crying into your room in the middle of the night, great. This was something I was told by a child development spec. many years ago and it made sense. | ||

I agree with the person above, Sky High is great! And you should really try, Hoodwinked The Emperor's New Groove Meet the Robinsons Night at the Museum And, though they're not movies, the following older television shows are good: The Cosby Show Green Acres I Love Lucy The Beverly Hillbillies Full House
Hope you find something! |

We have enjoyed some of the old black and white comedies, as well! One that comes to mind quickly is Arsenic and Old Lace. It is a little scary in one spot but my 9 year old girl could handle it. We are HUGE fans of Mr. Magorium's and 7 brides for 7 brothers! MANY GREAT MOVIES WERE ON THIS LIST! |

One my family really enjoyed was a fairly obscure movie called Spooky House starring Ben Kingsley. I believe it's rated PG but was fairly tame. It was just spooky enough to have my nine year old on the edge of her seat. I would say it's appropriate for eight year olds and up. I quite enjoyed it myself! |

The Adventures of Milo and Otis, The Never Ending Story, Anything Shirley Temple: The Littlest Rebel is my favorite because there's a lot of tap dancing...
